PSG star Kylian Mbappe has humorously conceded defeat even before facing off against sprinting legend Usain Bolt in a proposed 100m dash.
The event, suggested by Bolt as a charity race, has caught the attention of sports fans worldwide.
During the 'Victory Mode' event organized by his foundation Inspired By KM and Nike, Mbappe discussed his admiration for Bolt, who holds the 100m world record at a blistering 9.58 seconds.
MEGAPARI is giving you the BEST ODDS and possible returns on this exciting match and on other premier league games this weekend as well.
"Knowing that I inspire someone like that is really gratifying. I think he inspired everyone a little bit too, and every one of you in this room has gotten up in the middle of the night to watch one of his races. It’s mutual! But I started admiring him first," Mbappe shared, according to sports news outlet Goal.
Bolt, who retired from professional athletics in 2017, had playfully stated that there is no doubt Mbappe would lose in such a race.
Responding with good humor, the 25-year-old French forward said, "[I have] no chance, I think so too!"
Despite being known for his explosive speed on the football pitch, Mbappe's best theoretical sprint time stands at 10.9 seconds, significantly slower than Bolt's world record.
The charity race, if it materializes, would not only highlight the athletic prowess of both stars but also underscore their mutual respect and admiration for each other's careers.
Mbappe is expected to make a big move this summer leaving Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid adding further excitement to his profile.
Bolt, on the other hand, has dabbled in football since hanging up his spikes, having spent time training with Australian side the Central Coast Mariners.
Now 37, Bolt is confident in his remaining speed and fans are eager to see if he still has enough left in the tank to outpace the much younger Mbappe.
