Harambee Stars’ twin wins in the Four Nations tournament have seen Kenya move up four places in the latest FIFA Ranking.

Kenya are now ranked position 107 following their 4-0 victory over Malawi before the 3-1 comeback win against Zimbabwe when they claimed the Four Nations trophy.

Uganda are the highest ranked East African nation at position 92 with Kenya ahead of Tanzania, who are ranked 119, despite featuring at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Morocco (13), Senegal (17), Nigeria (30), Egypt (37), Ivory Coast (38), Tunisia (41), Algeria (43), Mali, (44), Cameroon (51) and South Africa (59) are the top 10 African countries while Argentina, France, Belgium, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Croatia are the top nations in the world.

Engin Firat’s men were too hot to handle at the Four Nations tournament in Lilongwe Malawi, starting with a 4-0 win against the hosts courtesy of a double from captain Michael Olunga, added to strikes from Ayub Timbe and John Avire, before the Kenyan skipper scored a hat-trick when they recovered from an early own goal to silence Zimbabwe 3-1.

The victories were a big morale booster for Harambee Stars ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June when they will face Burundi and African champions Ivory Coast in Nairobi.

Kenya have three points from two matches in their qualification group and must post positive results to not only increase their chances but also boost their FIFA ranking.
